Who's Who at Aire Valley

At Aire Valley Architectural Aluminium Ltd we feel it’s important to know who you are talking to. See below for a brief background of some of our key team members.  They are easy to speak to and always willing to help.

Calum Radcliffe


Calum left school in 2009 having done a further two years at sixth form studying business and sport science. Having applied for a job Aire-Valley, Calum was appointed in January 2012 to undertake the job of junior estimator.

Calum is developing his knowledge of the manufacturing process and how the industry works. He is currently studying towards a Level 2 Business and Admin NVQ.

In his spare time Calum is a keen sportsman, playing Rugby for his local team and football when he gets time! He also enjoys following football, his team being the mighty blues, Everton!

Eric Herbert


Eric joined Aire Valley 2 years ago. He had 25 years in related architectural work prior to this, and a degree in design.

Eric’s main duty is to interact with architects and main contractors on various projects, answering or commenting on drawings issued and received to ensure they are approved to meet the manufacturing program.

Eric’s interests include cycling, music and military aircraft.

Steve Kent

Scheduler / Buyer

Steve started working at Aire Valley Architectural in 2007 as a trainee CNC operator, This was a change of pace from his previous career in the printing industry.

After training and keen to learn Steve taught himself how to create his own CNC programs. He enjoyed five years working on the shop floor as a CNC programmer until he was offered the opportunity to progress into the role of buyer and scheduler in 2013.

Steve is now looking forward to beginning his studies in computer aided design

In his spare time he keeps himself busy with DIY projects and enjoys visiting the cinema and dining at restaurants with his fiancée Naomi.

Martin Illingworth

Works Manager

Martin started his career in 1985 working as an aluminium fabricator at the same company as Roy and Steve. He learned how to fabricate shop fronts, curtain walling, windows, doors, balustrades and fire screens. Martin was asked to join Aire Valley, which he did, back in 1995.

He worked as a fabricator to begin with, and as the business grew, he progressed to works charge hand, and then quickly on to become works manager. In this current role he oversees the general day to day running of the factory, as well as building relationships with key supply chain partners.

Martin enjoys walking, watching his beloved Bradford City FC, and camping in the great outdoors.

He lives with his long-time partner Joanne, and is also a qualified youth leader.
